The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) is a U.S. organization with a goal to improve access to care, treatment, and services for children and adolescents exposed to traumatic events. This “Refugee trauma” section of NCTSN website provides comprehensive information for learning about refugee experiences, trauma and core stressors. Also available is an assessment tool for assessing trauma, using a model that includes four core stressors: traumatic stress, resettlement stress, acculturation stress and isolation stress. In addition, the site provides resources on refugee rights and other mental health measures.
